Mrs Andrea Chau from Canada:
Dear Mr. Bang,
We just arrived home in Canada last night so I apologize for not responding to your letter earlier. We were very happy with our trip to Cao Son with Pole-Star Travel. From the beginning, you were helpful in planning our itinerary and making suggestions. Everything proceeded smoothly from the pick-up at our hotel to the drop-off back at our hotel at the end. The 2-bed berth on the return train trip was a bonus too! You were attentive to our needs and flexible about arranging another trip when we finished early on the second day. We enjoyed our time with you and with our guide. You both introduced us to the people of Cao Son and their lifestyles. We are so glad that we visited that area instead of Sapa. The food at the lodge was plentiful and delicious. You have a wonderful cook!
The entire trip exceeded our expectations and was one of the highlights of our trip to Vietnam. Thank you for returning our flashlight to us---that was an extra service which we really appreciated. Thank you for the entire trip.
We wish you every success in your business.Sincerely, Andrea Chau and Jim Fisher

" I really found this lodge peaceful and cozy, I will come back to learn about the local food, it was too good to enjoy..."We had a great time in the mountains. Our guide Bon made sure we were able to do the things we wanted. He was flexible when we wanted to change our plans because of the weather or my stomache problems. Bon is great !
Our driver Thang was great too! He is an excellent driver + was able to drive the dangerous roads with ease. We felt completely safe with him.
The Eco-lodge was nice. It was great to have the fire pit esp on a cold night.
All in all, we enjoyed our trip. Th meet some of the landscape is spectacular. It was a great opportunity to meet some of the Hmong people.
Thank you,Fynn & Johnathan
( trip on 04th Nov 2008)Trekking Cao Son 13.11.2008
Trekking Cao Son organised by Cao Son Ecolodge is something out off the ordinary everyday village track. With well veised and knowledgeable guide Truong that really make this tour extraordinary.
The ride in a van is not boring for the view of the mountains were breathtaking while we climb toward Cao Son. On the way, we stop by Cao Son where we mingle with the Flower Hmong in their best dress. It is a photography delight. The stay in Cao Son Eco-lodge is basit but comfortable. Food is good with fine dining on low table served with local corn wine and by a warm fire.
Visit to the village during the day programme where we see how the tribal people live and they are very poor. Their treasure are their cow, pig and chicken. They grow all their food mainly rice and corn.Ohh, all the trip was a good exprience.

Cao Son hill tribal markets + homestay 02.04.09
It was such a beautiful time in the mountain of Vietnam. We were really interested with the colorful market of Cao Son and Pha Long. Thounsands of Flower Hmong, Nung and other tribes were here just to enjoy the market. Mr Bang, our tour operator were very flexible to make changes for us. We loved much the evening in Muong Lum with Red Dzao people. They were so lovely. We drank corn wine for the first time and almost drunken. Mr Truong, our tour guide introduced us much how to distill the wine, cultivate the rice, corn and tea. The food here is quite delicious. The staff in Cao Son offered us extremely good food and hospitality.
We will recommend this trip for anyone who is keen on mountain adventure.

Thanks Jackson Nguyen so much for offering us such a great holiday. I must confess that the people in Cao Son were so lovely. We did enjoy the dance of Hmong man around the fire and the dinner in your lodge much. We took lots of photos in Tin Thang forest and Chay river. It is our best time oversea so far....

Cao Son - Muong Lum - Monkey forest trekking - booked via caosonecolodge@gmail.com 02.08.09
There is nothing to complain about the itinerary but the lodge offers too much good foods and overwhemling musical dance. The trekking was really more than our expectation with plenty of genius local hospitality, magnificient sceneries. We did got fun with trekking from the top of the waterfall to bamboo forest. I must say I love the people here and the way Cao Son Ecolodge offered us this adventure.

Cao Son - off the beaten road adventure - 12th Dec 2009
Thank you so much Jackson Nguyen, we have a wonderful time in your lodge and the mountain. Thanks for offering us such an unique itinerary. We really appreciate that on our trip, we met no tourist and we experience the real things: real people, real village, real culture and real nature.
Your tour guide was excellent, he made our trip very enjoyable. Thanks to his funny stories, my children laughed a lot and a lot. His knowledge about the region was just perfect. He really did his job well from the beginning.
Your staff and cook in Cao Son is simply amazing. I love the food, the fire and the music.
I would always recommend your trip to my friends and families(Katherine and family from CA, US )
Cao Son and northern Vietnam - 10th Jan 2010

"Beginning of May 2010 I booked the tour Sapa - Cao Son - Bac Ha unrival trails (5 days/6nights). The organization was quick and without any problems and I must say: from the pick-up from Hanoi airport until the drop-off to Lao Cai train station I had an amazing time. The tour is without any doubts the best I have ever taken and keeps the promise to be off the beaten treck. For the first 3 days I have literally been the only foreigner there and like this you really get in touch with the locals (mainly Flower Hmong). I booked the tour with the motorbike and this allowed me to get a good feeling for distances, weather (from cold to rain to heat) and people. The countryside is beautiful and still untouched from tourism. The Eco-Lodge fits absolutely well into this concept and contributes but not at all interferes into the locals lifestyle. During my treks and the evenings in the Lodge I was offered delicious local food together with the traditional local corn wine accompanied by tons of information about the people and their culture. Also the homestay in a Red Dzao family was a special experience that I enjoyed a lot. The trip also included 2 days in Sapa - again a stunning countryside but flooded with tourists and all advantages and disadvantages coming with tourism. I definitely preferred the unspoiled Cao Son.Many many thanks to the whole team from Cao Son Lodge, Pole Star Travel (thanks for the car upgrade at the end of my tour) and my guide Mr. Tuan"
